About Heurisco
Honest, original practice for admissions tests.
Heurisco is an independent publisher. We make original practice papers for UK university admissions tests, starting with the ESAT. The name comes from heuristic: a method for finding the answer. That is what the papers and lessons aim to teach.
What we make
Free lessons for every ESAT topic, topic practice sets, full module mock papers and bundles. Every paper comes with an answer key and worked solutions.
What we do differently
- Every question is original. We do not copy official papers or other publishers, and we say plainly that we are not the official source.
- Solutions explain the trap. Each worked solution shows the method and names the tempting wrong answer, so you learn what the test is checking.
- The lessons are free. You can learn every topic without paying. The paid papers are for practice.
- No invented proof. There are no reviews, student numbers or score promises on this site, because we have none to report.
How papers are built and checked
Papers are built by code from original questions. Every answer key is verified automatically at build time, and a paper cannot be built if an answer disagrees with its key. Our checks are automated; we do not claim any human review panel. If a mistake still gets through, report it and we will correct it quickly and send the corrected files to everyone who bought the paper.
Independence
Heurisco is an independent practice provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to UAT-UK, Pearson VUE, the UCAT Consortium, or any university.
