UCAT preparation
University Clinical Aptitude Test. A timed aptitude test for medicine and dentistry applicants. Papers are planned; the format is very different from ESAT, so we will not rush them.
About the test
Four timed subtests: Verbal Reasoning (44 questions, 22 minutes), Decision Making (35 questions, 37 minutes), Quantitative Reasoning (36 questions, 26 minutes) and Situational Judgement (69 questions, 26 minutes). The three cognitive subtests are scored 300 to 900; Situational Judgement is reported as a band from 1 to 4.
Used by many UK medical and dental schools. The 2026 testing window ran from 13 July to 24 September 2026 and booking has closed; check ucat.ac.uk for the next cycle.
